The Plothole
Name Origin - Came from a plothole.
Weight - 99.94kg
Dimensions - L - 1.6m W - 0.9m H - 35cm
Shape - Low box-wedge with the top depressed by 20cm in the top of the robot. At the back is a hinged wedge identical to the dimensions of the fixed wedge at the front.
Speed - 26.8mph or 12m/s
Turning Circle - 0
Ground Clearance - 0 under the wedges, 6mm at the sides
Locomotion - 4 x 100mm lightweight wheels with custom conveyer belt tyres move The Plothole around
Armour - 5mm titanium for the wedges and sides. 5mm aluminium for the base and 2 sheets of 5mm polycarbonate for the lid.
Batteries - 5 x 24V NiMh 5.0ah Battlepacks plus 1 extra for the weapon
Motors - 4 x Amplow A28-400 motors geared at a ratio of 15:7 to produce a phenomental top speed (in robot terms) as well as good torque, acceleration, and good pushing power of 18.08BHp
Weapons - This is where things get pretty damn cool The top of the machine is depressed by 20cm into The Plothole to form a pit, this allows us some added protection from axes and crushers as the weapon has to reach down to get to The Plothole. The idea is that the weapon is MOSTLY The Plothole itself. The immense speed of the Plothole will shoot underneath another robot, sliding underneath it so it falls into the lid. The Plothole will render its opponents useless before activating the pit whilst carrying the immobile machine. The Plothole will then open as it's top is essentially a mid-power flipper powered by a linear actuator, allowing the opponent to go back down the wedge and into the pit. The Plothole will then close.
Srimech - The lid
Strengths - Fast, Powerful, Difficult to Beat
Weaknesses - If the Plothole doesn't open?
Theme Music - INXS - New Sensation
Chassis - 13kg
Armour - 42kg
Batteries - 8.4kg
Motors - 12.54kg
Wheels - 9kg
Weapon - 0 (is included in armour)
Weapon power - 5kg
Other bits - 10kg
