Hypertension 4
Name Origin - Pretty Self-explanatory
Weight - 98.03kg
Dimensions - H - 25cm L - 90cm W- 65cm
Speed- 15.5mph or 6.9m/s
Shape- Low wedge with a rounded back. The tyres of the wheels protrude from the rear, however hinged halway up the back is a skirt, which protects the rear from flipper attacks and spinner attacks.
Ground Clearance- 0mm at front, going up to 1cm at the rear, thought the skirt makes this 0.
Turning Circle- 0
Armour- 4mm Hardox
Locomotion- 2 x 270mm drilled aluminium wheels with reinforced rubber grips. There is a caster built into a hole in the underneath to allow extra manouvreability but with very little ground clearance.
Batteries – 4 x 24v 3.3ah NiMh battlepack weighing in at 4.8kg
Motors- 2 x Ampflow A28-400 Motors running at 24V
Failsafe Position- Under the armour at the top of the flipper.
Paint Scheme- White
Weapons- a CO2 powered flipper running at 750psi with 2 x 70mm bore, 220mm stroke rams behind it with a 2.5kg gas tank. It can flip about 2 tonnes, though that shouldn’t be necessary. It should send a 100kg robot about 1.7m into the air and had around 15 flips in the tank. The idea is that we reserve flips as much as possible and only use them when in prime position. With the shape having changed for this version, if the robot is overturned, the weight of the ballast and the invertibility means we can still get under robots when upside down, meaning we can become either a passive ramming wedge, or we can still fire the flipper and have the whole bulk of the robot to flip with. This means we save gas as opposed to self-righting. Inside the front of the wedge is a 5kg ballast to ensure that the nose stays along the ground whether right way up or inverted.
Srimech- The flipper.
Strengths- Powerful flipper, good speed and acceleration
Weaknesses- Difficult to drive
Theme Tune - Foo Fighters - End Over End
Weight Distribution
Chassis – 14kg
Armour – 19.43kg
Wheels – 12kg
Batteries – 4.8kg
Motors – 10.8kg
Weaponry – 22kg
Odd Bits - 15kg
