Two similar machines here, the smaller but more controlled Baldur against the larger and faster Crimson Thunder; both have four wheel Lynch motor drive and rely mainly on brute force. Crimson Thunder is the quickest off the mark, storming across the arena floor and then braking suddenly as Baldur turns away from the attack, moving downwards before pivoting to face towards Crimson Thunder with the scoop. Danny drives his machine in again, turning slightly to get Crimson Thunder's wedge flat on against Baldur's front scoop, and Baldur comes in on the defensive...the floor shakes as the two machines collide, and Baldur is knocked about a foot back, but is still on the ground, Crimson Thunder unable to get underneath the front scoop. The machines back off slightly and collide again, with the same results; Crimson Thunder has the more power, but all the power in the world wouldn't seem to be able to get under Baldur's scoop.
Crimson Thunder reverses, turning before coming across to the other side of the arena, as Baldur tries to chase in pursuit, but has to raise its scoop, dug into the ground to protect against Crimson Thunder's ramming attacks, to do so; the two machines nudge into each other as they come in, stalking as the drivers try to exploit their opponents' weaknesses. Baldur backs off, hoping to come in again to lift up the sides of its oponent, but Crimson Thunder is able to move quicker, and jams the corner of the wedge in underneath Baldur's scoop pivots! Alex attempts to escape, but Crimson Thunder drives in, wedging underneath his smaller machine, seeming almost like a suitcase caught on the bonnet of a car. Crimson Thunder starts the pushing, acceleratng to ramming speed as it powers up towards the top end of the arena, and slamming Baldur up against the arena walls, sending it bouncing over the front left wheel of Crimson Thunder! Baldur immediately recovers though, turning and coming back in, and driving the front scoop into the ground, bending the side skirt slightly to jam underneath the two centimetres of side clearance on Crimson Thunder, and now Alex is in control!
The scoop on Baldur begins to lift Crimson Thunder up off the ground, and Danny suddenly realises he is in a poor position - his machine cannot self right on its side, and the action is taking place very close to the arena walls, where there is the danger of being lifted over the fence - he pushes his controls to try and get off the front scoop, but to little effect. The scoop rises higher, and Baldur starts to push forwards, levering its opponent over, but then Crimson Thunder shoots sideways across the front of Baldur, the wheels gaining traction...coming down onto the ground...but Danny's relief is short lived as his robot comes down on its side and, after rocking for a few seconds, stays there, balanced at a slight angle on its skirt hinge! The wheels are spinning, but Crimson Thunder is going nowhere, and Baldur realises this, backing away from the corner, Alex merely waiting as Danny shakes his head in the opposite contol booth, retracting the aerial on his controls as he gamely applauds his opponent.
The house robots now sense that the battle is won, approaching the stricken Crimson Thunder to create mayhem. Shunt fires the axe, landing a blow on the side armour of Crimson Thunder but barely denting the Hardox, but a second blow carves into the rubber on the wheel as Killalot works the lance into a gap in the top armour, plucking the stranded machine from the arena floor, Baldur spinning in place as the house robot turns and moves towards the waiting pit. Danny shrugs in his booth, allowing a small smile to show as he almost cheerfully gives a thumbs-down gesture, before Killalot's lance lowers and deposits Crimson Thunder into the smoking abyss.

Ripper is off straight from the start, charging towards Tempest, which is beginning to get the spinning ring up to maximum rotation speed, trying to stop it from doing that. Tempest turns on the spot, and drives forward in an attempt to avoid the approaching scoop of Ripper, and...
CRASH! Ripper is caught by the edge of its scoop and is knocked sideways, a slight dent showing where one of Tempest's large teeth hammered into the Hardox, while Tempest finds itself tossed up towards the top corner of the arena. Ripper recovers quickly though, and Jonno drives it scoop forwards straight back in on Tempest, which is spinning again...
CRASH! Again, the two machines are thrown in opposite directions, while Ripper is spun in a 360 degree arc by the impact, having been hit by one of Tempest's other teeth as it was being flung by the primary hit, and the paint on the sides now looks rather sad...but Tempest, following Newtonian physics, has taken as much as it recieved, and is trying now to get out of the corner, having collided with the arena walls and lost the remaining energy stored in the spinner. Frank holds his transmitter in the air, craning his neck to look down on the corner below his box, and begins to get Tempest out of its jam, but Ripper is back in again, and with almost no rotation coming from the rim of its opponent it has little difficulty in approaching, the ten millimetre ground clearance of Tempest being exploited by the front scoop...
FLIP! And as the front of Ripper snaps shut, Tempest rolls towards the right, teeters on its side for a monet, before gravity takes over and it falls back down...against the arena walls! Frank pushes his controls desperately, and the rim begins to rotate, the teeth scratching up the paintwork on the arena floor as it tries to get itself down, slowly, but Ripper comes back around, positioning itself to get the scoop in underneath the side of the stuck Tempest...which slides down onto the ground, pushing Ripper back! Frank realises he could have a chance here, and tries to turn the centre of Tempest to maneuver it out of the way...
FLIP!
...but not fast enough. The combined forces of the flipper and the attempted escape make Tempest fly almost diagonally into the air, tumbling over the arena barrier and bouncing down onto the camera rails. Frank shakes his head, smiling to himself as across the arena Jonno raises his arms in victory.

So, in the almost immortal words of Jonathan Pearce, our last seat at the great table is about to be filled...and it's Baldur who's the quicker out of the start, coming out towards Ripper, who turns slightly before coming to meet the advancing Baldur, and the two machines collide near the pit, scoop to scoop. Baldur seems to have the initial advantage though, raising the front slightly and lifting Ripper's weapon off the ground, the four wheels giving it traction as it begins to edge Ripper back...but the flipper activates, knocking Baldur upwards slightly as it catches the top of the scoop, and allowing Ripper to get the two wheels on the floor fully and begin to push back...and as Baldur lands, it is driven up and into the gap between the raised flipper and the base of Ripper, leaving Baldur stuck underneath its opponent's weapon! John tries to use this to his advantage, moving Ripper forward in an arc to get Baldur lined up for the pit, but Alex struggles and struggles with the scoop, and the rear wheels get traction on the floor, pulling his machine away from the grasp of Ripper, and Baldur powers back in as the flipper returns, getting the scoop underneath the front edge of the weapon and beginning to push Ripper towards the other side of the arena, building up ramming speed as it moves onwards...
FLIP! Suddenly, the flipper goes up, and catches the top of Baldur's scoop again, this time flipping it up in a somersault to land on its back! As the gas vents from the flipper though, Baldur turns to come back in on the attack, but Ripper is coming back in as well, and collides with Baldur side on, the corner of the scoop gouging into the Kevlar armouring of Baldur and ripping it a little. Baldur has the superior power though, reversing back towards the left hand side wall and dragging Ripper with it, and the flipper fires again, ripping the outer armour fabric a little more as it breaks free of its opponent, and Baldur is free to turn around and come back in on the attack. Ripper turns to face it, but isn't quick enough to turn, and Baldur slams into the front corner of its opponent, knocking both robots towards the southern end of the arena somewhat...but Baldur's scoop rides up onto Ripper's front, and the yellow and green flipper is able to push back! Baldur gets traction on the arena floor from the back tyres, and tries to reverse off the scoop, but the rear bar catches on the wall and it can go no further...Alex is holding his controls in the air, as it would seem his earlier dominance of the match has been reversed, frantically trying to get Baldur away, but the arena wall blocks him to one side, and the smoke and tyres of the pit to the other...Ripper comes in again, getting the scoop underneath the side of Baldur, and trying to steer it towards the pit. Baldur's two left side wheels try to drag it off the scoop, keeping it backed against the wall, and Alex almost manages to drive Baldur off...
FLIP! Ripper suddenly fires the front weapon, and Baldur is thrown up into the air, hitting the top of the left hand wall as it comes down...for a moment looking as if it might fall back into the arena, but Ripper comes forwards, and John rams Baldur with his machine's raised weapon, sending it tumbling down against the audience screening, which flexes somewhat as the spotlights focus on the out of arena, defeated Baldur, while Ripper backs away and spins in celebration at being the final robot in the grand finale.
