Robot Name: Sacrifice (Clusterbot)
Part One
Dimensions (L x W x H): 70cm x 50cm x 25cm
Shape: Invertible Box
Colour: Black with a red “emo-heart” painted on the top and a dark blue “emo-heart” painted on the bottom.
Weight: 50kg
Drive: 2 x S28- 150 MagMotors running at 24v, powered by 24v NiCads. Gives roughly 6HP of push.
Top Speed: 15mph.
Wheels: 2 x high density go-kart wheels made from thick rubber, with a thick tread on each tyre for added grip on the arena. Each wheel is 26cm in diameter and is filled with expanding foam.
Armour: 3.5mm Hardox all over.
Weaponry: Sheer bullying and tenacity. Oh and a couple of spikes on the front and sides, mainly for decoration though.
Turning Circle: 0m
Ground Clearance: 5mm all over.
Srimech: Invertible. The spikes on the sides stop it getting stranded.
Part Two
Dimensions (L x W x H): 50cm x 120cm x 25cm
Shape: Invertible horizontal jaw shaped (TAN, basically )
Colour: Black on one side and red on the other.
Weight: 50kg
Drive: 2 x LEM130s running at 24v, powered by 24v NiCads. Uber power!!! ;D
Top Speed: 15mph roughly.
Wheels: 2 x 26cm diameter wheels. The hubs are made from Titanium and Aluminium alloy, and are coated in a thick layer of Vulcalore for added grippyness! ;D
Armour: 5mm Titanium all over. The claws have weight reducing holes in them, to reduce the weight, so it saves weight.
Weaponry: A pair of low pressure CO2 powered claws, mainly used to grip onto opponents rather than damage them. They are very quick, similar in speed to Thermidor’s claws (when they worked ;D).
Turning Circle: 0m
Ground Clearance: 0cm at front, 5mm at back.
Srimech: Invertible.
Info on the design
This is my latest cluster bot, used primarily to break its way through the 100% cluster rule used by some tournaments. The concept is quite simple - part two of the cluster grabs the opponent and then "sacrifices" itself by driving into the pit and taking the opponent with it. Hence the name.
This machine will only be used in tourneys where the 100% rule is used and the rounds are either 1v1 knockouts or 3 way melees.
