WORCK - Written as Worck • WEIGHT: 100kg • ARMOUR: 5mm Hardox for the body and flipper. 6mm Hardox for the scoop. There are hindged wedges on the sides and rear of Worck made of 3.25mm Hardox. Behind the armour, all the way around Vulkanised rubber to shock-proof it against spinners. • SHAPE: A low wedge shape. • MOTORS: 2 x S28-400 MagMotors at 36V = 12HP • LOCOMOTION: 4 Vulkanised Wheels. • DIMENSIONS: (L) 70CM (H) 15CM (W) 70CM • COLOUR: Black for the flipper and barbs, white for the body. • WEAPONRY: A forward hindged flipper, running on a single 750psi ram running on CO2. The gas is contained in 2 x 2.5kg bottle, giving me 20 flips per fight, and the gearing on the ram 3:1 means we have 1300kg of flipping force! That should mean on a forward hindged flipper that I can flip almost everything OOTA. • SPEED: 13mph • GROUND CLEARANCE: The wedges, which join up at the corners of the robot, make the ground clearance effectively zero, but underneath the wedges is 5mm of clearance. The wedges are held on by Titanium hindges • STRENGTH: Near impossible to get under. • WEAKNESS: Low speeds.

In an era of powerful flippers and pointless introductions, from the era of great empires comes a robot that is designed from the ground up (very literally) to be flipper-proof.
Ladies, gentlemen, and Frank, I give you...The Quaestor.
WEIGHT: 100kgs DIMENSIONS: 95 x 55 x 30 cm SHAPE: Box with wedge, only the wedge is in two sections making something of a shallow plow shape. COLOUR: Yellow and blue chevrons, with gold trim on the edges and silver weaponry. Has 'The Quaestor' spelled out on the side in anodised aluminium letters, and a red flag hanging from the axe. DRIVE: 4 S28-400 Magmotors driving 4 wheels running off 4 NiCd packs at 24v. SPEED: 14mph average, 20mph max GROUND CLEARANCE: Wheels can be pneumatically raised/lowered (using a compressed air system seperate from the axe pneumatics) to give a minimum of 0 all around (this grounds it however) with a maximum of 50mm clearance, but normally has 5mm with 0 at the tip of the body. ARMOUR: 4mm hardox front, sides and rear with 3mm titanium and 4mm polycarbonate on the top and 3mm aluminium base. WEAPONS: Pneumatic 75cm long steel axe on the front, running from a rack and pinion system and 2 2.5kg CO2 tanks giving about 40 hits in a match. The axe head is shaped similarly to Shunt's but is tungsten tipped, weighs 5kg and can punch through 6mm titanium and dent hardox. SRIMECH: Via the weapon, which should be powerful enough to pull it over if it gets stranded on its sides (no spikes or ridges or anything a flipper could grab on to) NOTES: Base is coated with silicone rubber sheet to make it more difficult to push when in 'sit down' mode. Internal components shock mounted for protection. STRENGTHS: Very difficult to push or flip, good weapon WEAKNESSES: Armour could be better

The Hoof:
Also known as a replacement for the 3 year old QJS.
Shape: It’s a simple wedge design, with curved sides and curved rear end. The front wedge has a titanium strip at the front, which is designed to get underneath other machines.
Mass – 100KG at start of match, ~ 98 KG at end of match.
Weapon – It still has a basic flipper set-up, similar to the flipper set-up in Dantomkia.
Speed – 15 mph, geared towards instant acceleration
Power – 2, S28-400 Magmotors @ 24 volts
Wheels – 2 grippy wheels at the rear of the machine, with some bearings in the underside of the front wedge, on a little lifter to raise and lower the front wedge.
Armour – 10mm Carbon Fibre base plate, where the rest of the armour is 3mm Hardox with 5mm of carbon fibre on top of that. Little pieces of lead buried in the front wedge pushes the front down.
Self-righter – The flipper
Turning Circle – A few millimetres maybe.
Ground clearance – Front wedge is 0mm, sides and rear are 10mm. Apart from the front half of the sides, which are protected with skirts, allowing some protection but not to hurt handling.
Summary – Old school flipping wedge, with a well weighted chassis giving some brilliant handling

Name: GeForce 4.0 Shape: Low to the ground wedge with sloped sides and rear. Dimensions: 800mm x 600mm x 250mm (Length x Width x Height) Weight: 100kgs Motivation: Four CNC Aluminium wheels with holes for weight reducing. There are two choices of tyre that can be used on the edge of these wheels. The first choice are bonded with Vulkalon rubber for superb grip on metal surfaces. The second choice are made with standard rubber with small screws poking out for extra grip on wooden surfaces. Power: Two LEM130 Lynch Motors on 48v powered by 120x 3000mAh NiCad cells producing 12amps. Speed: 15mph Turning Circle: The robot can spin on the spot using a Tornado like skid steering system. Ground Clearance: 0mm at the front going up to about 10mm at the back. Skirting: 5mm Titanium skirting at sides and back. Armour: 3.25mm Hardox 450 monocoque. Weapon: The main weapon is a rear hinged full pressure flipper. It is powered by an 80mm bore ram that is pumped with Nitrogen gas at 1000psi. The power of the flipper is reduced using a reverse lifting ratio that means it is capable of flipping 1500kg at the tip. The gas is contained in two 2.2kg canisters giving over 20 flips per fight. The flipper has a Titanium blade for getting under other robots better. SRIMECH: The flipper can self-right GeForce 4.0 in a stylish 540 degree flip.

Y4
Weight: 99 kilos Body Shape: T-Minus Speed: 16mph TC: 0 GC: 8mm, but the flipper blade reaches 0. Wheels: 2 semi outer (that means they're protected) Armour: 5mm steel on body, 9mm titanium on wheelguards. Power: The usual 3x 12v batteries and couple Magmotors (S28-400s) for power. Colour: Grey Weapons: An extremely powerful pneumatic CO2 flipper (Try 300 kilos+). Can perform about 30 or so flips before it starts weakening. Srimech: The flipper acts as srimech. It can also be used as gymnastics. A light flip will knock the robot back over, but pressing hard on the button will send the robot into a 540 degree spin before landing, or a Matador style bound in mid air. All prperly controlled, of course. The robot can also run inverted, so if it gets too close to the arena wall, it should be OK. Inspiration: A quote from a cartoon. Taz-mania, I believe. Strengths: Powerful flipper, very entertaining. Weaknessess: Semi exposed wheels.

Name: Starstorm 2
Shape: Dome, with a spike on top in the centre to allow it to self right.
Colour: Black with stars painted on.
Weapon: Full body flipper. It uses three 80 bore X 160 stroke rams, powered on 500 PSI. When the weapon fires, the entire lid of the robot shoots upwards. The aim of this robot is: Shoot it high, watch it die. Because of the shape it’s likely to throw opponents up rather than long, meaning a high drop but it will land near me, so with decent driving I can keep getting under them as they fall. Won’t be able to OOTA unless pretty close to the wall though
Weapon 2, more or less: Four skirts completely surround the machine. These can be raised and lowered using linear actuators. They’re raised when cruising, but when I want to get under something, the skirt in question is lowered as I attack, allowing me to slide under nicely. The skirts can also be lowered as a defence mechanism. When lowered fully, the skirts go flat against the floor, so most wedges will go straight over and onto the dome, and can then be launched.
Armour: 4 mm hardox with weight reducing holes for the dome, 3.25 hardox for the skirts and 6 mm Polycarb for the base.
Drive: Four wheel drive, powered by two S28-400 Magmotors.
Ground clearance: Variable depending on skirt level. Minimum is 0 mm, maximum is 5 mm. Under the front and rear GC though are rollers, allowing it to move up and down ramps easily.
Turning circle: 0.
Srimech: The lid will tip it over. Thanks to the spike, this will work 100% of the time.
Extras: Contains Tempest level shock absorption.
Safety link: The top spike.
Strengths: Hopefully very high powered flipper, reliable, tough armour. The shape of the armour will make spinners glance off rather than actually damaging it. Also 360 degree offensive/defensive capability.
Weaknesses: Can be out-pushed, and like any totally new ideas I’m only 50% sure it’ll work. Also thanks to the flipping method, opponents will likely go up high, but not along very much so may struggle OOTA-ing a bit.

strickenone.proboards99.com/index.cgi?board=heavies&action=display&thread=18 (for a picture) The Zenith Shape: Cylinder (see picture) Colour: See picture. Speed: 15mph Weight: 100kg Armour: 6mm hardox ring; wedges are 9mm titanium: the top srimech is 10mm polycarbonate. Drive: 2 LEM130s @ 36v. Power: 6 NiCad Battlepacks @ 36v. Motivation: Four small Biohazard style wheels with Vulkalon rubber for grip. Ground Clearance: 5mm under the ring, and 0mm at the wedges. Dimensions in CM (LxWxH): For the main body it's 80x80x15. Add the wedges and you get 120x120x15 Weaponry: Shell that is powered by a LEM170 motor @ 48v, running at 1750rpm, producing 70kJ of force per blow. Borrowed from superheavyweight S.L.A.M., are four wedges attached to the lower half of the shell, 90 degrees to each other. designed to throw robots across the ring when coming in contact, and OOTAs are definitely feasible. 3 hardox teeth inserted into each wedge will strip off some armour too, or even break it. Srimech: The 10mm polycarbonate top panel pops up, thanks to a 80mm rod and a 2kg CO2 tank, which should right the robot about 25-30 times in a fight. Strengths: Can throw and damage at the same time. Fast for a FBS. Fast srimech. Weaknesses: Can be gotten under easily if wedges are avoided. Average top armour. NOTE: PsychoSpin's 5th incarnation.

Achilles Weight: 100kg Shape: box, slightly thicker than tornado, not double sided, sides skirted like Panic Attack, back curved for more efficient srimech (like the original hydra), front is sloped at 45 degrees and tapered inwards so that any hits to the front will go to the reinforced flipper plate… See the image. Wheels: Four internal cast aluminium wheels (similar to tornado's Go Cart wheels in design but only half the width) and using treaded go-kart style tyres of appropriate diameters. Motors: 4x S28-400 Magmotors at 24v Speed: 18mph, Turning circle: 0m Armour: 5mm titanium and on top 10mm of polyurethane rubber to stop axes and crushers The flipper itself is a hardox frame and front plate (4mm) and the spatula being titanium. The internal rams are mounted onto a hardox crossbar but otherwise the top of the flipper it is now armoured with 10mm polycarbonate and the aforementioned rubber. Ground clearance: At the front, the flipper spatula essentially gives it a 0 ground clearance, at the sides it would be 5mm but is protected by a 3mm stainless steel skirt Weapons: The weapon is a rear pivoted lifting arm, this has two set-ups, plus a small extra mounted weapon for either. To get under the opponent it has a Bigger Brother style lifting plate that runs parallel to the ground resting upon it that gives the machine a really low ground clearance enabling it to get under most things, the front edge of the plate has been filed to a sharp edge. Set-up 1: Hydraulics Uses a single hydraulic lifting arm to life opponents of up to 150 kg into the air and tip over up to 400kg. Uses a 120mm bore ram with 40mm stroke and powered using a Vivoil pump On top of the lifter is a hook mechanism that looks like a tiny claw but performs the same gripping effect as the top mounted behemoth axe. It is not particularly sharp, as it is not designed to cause damage, just to grip the opponent it is powered by a small linear actuator. Set-up 2: Pneumatics The second set up is a high-powered pneumatics set-up with a single canister of C02 running at 1000psi providing the power. The addition to this set-up is a small T-shaped bar powered by an actuator which pivots towards the back, enabling Achilles to self right without using up any gas. Strengths: Very durable, no particular weaknesses for opponent to exploit. Weaknesses: No damaging weapons. However, as there is no interchangeable option, I'll only use the pnuenatic setup. i84.photobucket.com/albums/k4/Alexjh/Misc/achillesrender2.jpg

Wedge Devolution
SHAPE- low wedge with sloped rear and Biohazard-style side and rear skirts COLOUR- sleek and shiny silver WEIGHT- about 100kg DIMENSIONS- 90cm X 78cm X 40cm SPEED- 16mph TURNING CIRCLE- 0 GROUND CLEARANCE- 0mm at the front, 7mm for the rest of the robot (without skirts), 0mm at all sides (with skirts) ARMOUR- 4mm Hardox WHEELS- inside robot, 4-wheel drive POWER- 2 X Lemcos WEAPONS- As usual, the main weapon is a rear-hinged flipper. This is very similar to Chaos 2, except the blade at the bottom is bent ala Bigger Brother, allowing the flipper to have greater effect against bots with skirts or low centres of gravity. The flipper itself is powered by 2 X 80mm high pressure pneumatic rams, each running at 250psi. This should allow Wedge Devo to comfortably flip up to 1 tonne. Also, the front blade can be exchanged for a "Nose"-style plate, approximately 15cm in length. This is used primarily for full-body spinners. SRIMECH- The flipper can right the machine easily and the rear wedge should hopefully prevent a Chaos-style "self-flip". Also, Wedge Devo is equipped with a grey semi-sphere on either side of robot to prevent it getting stuck on its side NOTES- flashing red light on top of robot, flies Scotland flag STRENGTHS- powerful flipper, fast, manoeuvrable, difficult to get underneath, tough armour, good traction WEAKNESSES- could prove a bit tricky to control, limited CO2 (like all other flippers )
STAT ADDITIONS: DRIVE: 2 x LEM-COs at 36v POWER: 12 x 12v 3amp NiCad packs, giving 36v @ 12amp
By means of Danny's new flipper calculator (making the flipper 6kg and the amout of gas aboard 2kg), we have discovered that Mr Devo uses 34 flips per fight and throw approximately 816kg in total! Ta, Private Stickler

When you thought it was safe to enter a Vapour Tourney...
One man... One robot... One veteran...
BOO! ;D
Robot Name: Dennis The Menace Length/Width/Height: 100 x 40 x 25 – 35cm (The height of the robot increases as you move from the front to the back). Weight: 100KG Motivation: 2 foam filled go kart wheels made of uber-tough rubber. Speed: About 18mph Weapon: The main weapon is a 20kg spinning drum, powered by 2 Huqsvarna 3120XP chainsaw motors. The weapon is capable of changing gears during a match. Originally, the drum spins at 2400RPM when geared down 10:1, but this can be increased to 2:1 at systematic intervals of 2 gearings (10:1, 8:1, 6:1, 4:1 2:1). The 4mm Titanium drum is fitted with 2 horizontal Hardox bars, welded, screwed and riveted on to avoid them coming off. These are designed not only to flip, but to rip off skirts and armouring. The drum can hit with over 10kJ of force when spinning at 2400RPM, and increases to an astonishing 243kJ when spinning at 2:1 gearing (12000RPM). Drive: 24v Sinclair C5 motors. Power: 4 x 24v NiCad batteries. Armour: 5mm Titanium and Vanadium alloy. Ground Clearance: 4mm all around. Turning Circle: 0M Notes: The robot is invertible, and is completely symmetrical when flipped, meaning the performance isn’t altered at all. The robot’s shape is basically a box, but with the height increasing as you move from front to the back. The robot has 2 thick Hardox spikes on each side, which means it can pass the passive weaponry rule, and these also stop the robot resting on its side. To stop it resting on its back, the rear of the robot is slightly curved.
Hope that's ok... let's kick some n00bs!

Name: Walk Away Speed: 4mph Shape: Circle Weight: Depends, either 150kg or 200kg. Motivation: 4 legs, two on each side. one side activates to turn in the opposite way. The legs can retract into little holes that the legs fit into to lower ground clerance by alot. What makes it so low is that there's a double-sided plow surronding the chassis. Weapon: In the middle of the plow, there's a ring spinner with lots of sharp teeth for rapid cutting, powered by a etek on 72v, so the batteries are that in 2 36v SLA batteries, running on 2000 RPM.. having 93 kjs, and the weapon weighs 25kg. Armor: The armor is 8mm hardox. Srimech: None, but try getting under it. GC: 0 everywhere when the legs are in the holes, the entire thing basically just rests down. Strengths: Hard to get under when it's immobile, extremley powerful weapon and armor. Waknesses: Not that fast, even for a walker, and if you can flip it while it's moving, it's toast.
200kg modifications: The weapon weighs 45kg, and the armor has been toned up to 1.5 cm hardox.
