Psyclonised (1)
Shape: Horizontal cylinder with a ring around the circumference Colour: Black with red hammers and a red arrow on top so I can tell which way is forwards when driving around. Picture: Dimensions: 800mm x 150mm [Main Body] 1000mm x 150mm [With Hammers] Weight: 100kgs Motivation: Four CNC Aluminium wheels with holes for weight reducing. There are two choices of tyre that can be used on the edge of these wheels. The first choice are bonded with Vulkalon rubber for superb grip on metal surfaces. The second choice are made with standard rubber with small screws poking out for extra grip on wooden surfaces. Power: Two LEM130’s at 24v with NiCads. Speed: Around 15mph so it can get into attacks quickly and run away to spin up. Turning Circle: 0m using tank style steering. Ground Clearance: 15mm all the way round so any shrapnel caused can be driven over if needed. Armour: 3.25mm Hardox on the top and bottom. Weapon: Psyclonised has an original variation on the usual ring spinner; this ring spinner is merged with a Son of Whyachi style cage, only invertible so all the self-righting problems are eliminated. The outer ring is made of 8mm thick Hardox 400. Sticking out from this ring are three Hardox bars, each supported to each other by a horizontal bar. This may also work as an effective anti-crusher system. On the edge of the bars are big blocks of Hardox forming hammers that can be hurled into the opposition causing huge dents and mainly giving them a good shaking around inside. To avoid the effect on itself, Psyclonised has all its components strapped down and shock mounted. If you are confused, take a look at the picture above. The ring is spun round using an LEM200 motor at 48v which can really give out some big hits at full speed. SRIMECH: Invertible, and because of the shape it can only really land on the top or bottom if flipped. Notes: A weapon system me and Martyn came up with together. Strengths: Quite difficult to attack and fairly destructive weapon system.

Yet Another Cut Above The Rest (10)Shape: A long drum for the main body with boxes at either end. Dimensions: 500mm x 1000mm x 200mm (Length x Width x Height) Motivation: In either of the square side pods are a wheel 250mm in diameter, each is made of an Aluminium hub with a layer of Vulkolan bonded around the edge for maximum grip on the arena floor. Drive: Driving the wheels are two LEM130 Lynch Motors run at 48v. Speed: The motors are geared for speed. Because of its axlebot nature it can’t push very well so it has a 15mph speed with great acceleration. Turning Circle: Zero turning circle using tank style steering. Ground Clearance: Under the side pods it is around 25mm and under the central drum it is around 35mm. The yawning clearance around the side pods is solved by skirting reducing it to 0mm. Skirts: Simple 4mm thick Grade 5 Titanium skirts attached to the sides using a durable rotary joint. To see how the skirts work you’ll need to see the picture. Armour: Other than the skirts the rest of the body is made of 3.25mm thick Hardox which should keep the innards safe from most attacks hopefully. Weapons: A huge 750mm diameter horizontal spinning disc inside the main drum section. Its is laser cut out of Hardox making it very durable, the teeth are also cut into this shape and later sharpened for great results when colliding with an opponent. It is powered by an LEM200 on 48v which produces about 52hp (correct me if I’m wrong) which can cause some serious damage. Self-Righting Mechanism: Due to its weird shape is should always land on its wheels. Its invertible so either way up will work. GeForce 4.0 (13)
Shape: Low to the ground wedge with sloped sides and rear. Dimensions: 800mm x 600mm x 250mm (Length x Width x Height) Weight: 100kgs Motivation: Four CNC Aluminium wheels with holes for weight reducing. There are two choices of tyre that can be used on the edge of these wheels. The first choice are bonded with Vulkalon rubber for superb grip on metal surfaces. The second choice are made with standard rubber with small screws poking out for extra grip on wooden surfaces. Power: Two LEM130 Lynch Motors on 48v powered by 120x 3000mAh NiCad cells producing 12amps. Speed: 15mph Turning Circle: The robot can spin on the spot using a Tornado like skid steering system. Ground Clearance: 0mm at the front going up to about 10mm at the back. Skirting: 5mm Titanium skirting at sides and back. Armour: 3.25mm Hardox 450 monocoque. Weapon: The main weapon is a rear hinged full pressure flipper. It is powered by an 80mm bore ram that is pumped with Nitrogen gas at 1000psi. The power of the flipper is reduced using a reverse lifting ratio that means it is capable of flipping 1500kg at the tip. The gas is contained in two 2.2kg canisters giving over 20 flips per fight. The flipper has a Titanium blade for getting under other robots better. SRIMECH: The flipper can self-right GeForce 4.0 in a stylish 540 degree flip.

ForcePower 5.0 (15)
Shape: Pretty much identical to the S7 version of Tornado, a compact box with an angled rear for helping to drive up ramps. There is no wedge at the front, it is flat. Dimensions: 800mm x 800mm x 200mm (Length x Width x Height) Weight: 100kgs Motivation: Four CNC Aluminum wheels with holes for weight reducing. There are two choices of tyre that can be used on the edge of these wheels. The first choice are bonded with Vulkalon rubber for superb grip on metal surfaces. The second choice are made with standard rubber with small screws poking out for extra grip on wooden surfaces. Power: Two LEM200’s are used to drive the wheels. The motors are powered by 250 C-Cell NiCad batteries, which produces the 60v needed to make the ~100hp. Speed: The speed is kept down to 15mph to give much better control of the power and drive train, giving it an advantage against fast robots. Turning Circle: The Tornado style skid steer means FP5.0 can turn on the spot. Ground Clearance: 10mm all the way round, both ways up. Skirting: 6mm thick Ti/V skirts can be attached to the sides using a rotary joint. Armour: 6mm thick Hardox monocoque. Weapon: Front invertible wedge and ramming force. SRIMECH: Invertible, the rear is shaped so it cannot land there and the side skirts stop it resting there. When the skirts are removed bars are added to the side to have the same effect.

Wedga’s Revenge
Shape: A cut off wedge like Steg 2, instead of the wedged front there is now a scoop that the lifting arm rests inside in its normal position. The sides and back are all slightly slanted to deflect spinners. Dimensions: 800mm x 700mm x 150mm (Length x Width x Height) Motivation: Driving Wedga’s Revenge are four Aluminium hubs with a layer of Vulkolan bonded on for extra grip on the arena surface, these are 140mm in diameter and 50mm in width. This provides more manoeuvrability than before. Drive: Driving the wheels are two LEM130 Lynch Motors run on 48v from a 3300mAh NiCad botpack. This gives approximately 18hp that should out push quite a few robots and makes a great combination with the front scoop. The robot is under the control of a Vantec speed controller meaning the power is all controlled and put to good use. Speed: Wedga’s Revenge can reach a top speed of about 15mph so it’s nice and controlled and has a decent acceleration to top speed. Turning Circle: Wedga’s Revenge uses a skid steering system like Tornado so that it can turn on the spot. Ground Clearance: There is around 10mm of clearance all around the robot minus the front scoop that rests along the ground so it can get under virtually anything, the sides and back are skirted and rest together at the corners giving it 0mm clearance all the way around the robot. Skirts: The skirts are made of 4mm thick Hardox and are hinged to the sides and back of the robot by a rotary joint, the skirts all meet at the corners meaning it is very hard to get under the robot from any angle. Armour: The base plate is constructed of 5mm thick Aluminium, that should protect the bottom if for any reason another robot manages to flip and attack the bottom. The front scoop is made of 4mm thick Hardox that is very hard to bend or shatter if not impossible. This is used for deflecting spinner attacks and general scooping up and pushing around. The top, sides and back are all made of a 4mm thick Hardox monocoque. This provides a tremendous amount more protection than previous versions. Weapons: The main weapon is a flipping arm that is hinged at the rear of the robot and rests down the wedge and inside the front scoop so if a spinner hits the front scoop the arm should not be damaged. The flipping arm is 100mm wide and is made of Hardox and is shaped like the scoop at the front so it can flip any robots on the front scoop easily. It is powered by a big 80mm bore 100mm stroke custom-made Aluminium ram. This is pumped with liquid Nitrogen at a pressure of 1000psi contained in two 2.2kg canisters and a 1.1kg buffer tank giving around 35 flips in a fight. This should mean the flipper can produce around 1500kgs of force each flip that should send other robots flying! This is 1000kgs or so more than last time. The action is reversed by a mechanism that acts against the flip, making the set-up safe and possible. This set up can comfortably flip 400kg so any heavyweight class robot should not be too much of a problem. The front scoop/rear skirt and drive train are also a great way of ramming robots around the arena and can work well with the flipper for flipping robots out of the arena. Self-Righting Mechanism: The flipper can self-right the robot with ease with stylish jumps off the ground. Notes: There has been a big upgrade in the durability this time around along with a far more powerful flipper set up.

Axeon 2.0
Shape: Sort of pyramidal, only with a flat top and four sides. Dimensions: 700mm x 700mm x 200mm (Length x Width x Height) Weight: 100kgs Motivation: Four wheels with a Vulkalon tread for grip. Power: 2x LEM130’s powered by 90x 3000mAh NiCad’s producing 36v. Speed: 18mph Turning Circle: 0, tank style steering. Ground Clearance: 10mm all round, 0mm with the skirts. Skirting: Hinged 3mm thick Titanium skirts on all four sides to get under others while stopping them from getting under me. Armour: 6mm Hardox monocoque. Weapon: 600mm long Hardox axe with a sharpened point on each end. It is run on a rack and pinion system like that on Terrorhurtz. The rack is driven by a 140mm ram powered by Nitrogen at 100psi, producing in excess of two tonnes of force. There are four 2kg canisters on board meaning Axeon has at very least 30 full power hits. This can annihilate aluminium, punch holes in titanium and even dent Hardox at full pressure. SRIMECH: The axe can easily self-right the robot. Notes: Uses an electromagnet system to hold itself down on magnetic floors and a fan/vacuum system on non-magnetic floors. This is to stop the robot jumping around when the axe is fired like Terrorhurtz. This version is faster and has a slightly improved double-headed axe compared to the original. Strengths: Hugely powerful axe and drive combination.

SOR 5.5
Shape: Tall box shape with a front wedge and sloped sides. The sides are also skirted and the front wedge has a Firestorm style ‘wedge extender’. Colour: Light grey with a dark grey flipper and SOR across the front in red. Dimensions: 700mm x 800mm x 200mm (Length x Width x Height) Weight: +/- 100kgs (Unsure of the actual weight at the moment) Motivation: Two CNC Aluminum wheels with holes for weight reducing. There are two choices of tyre that can be used on the edge of these wheels. The first choice are bonded with Vulkalon rubber for superb grip on metal surfaces. The second choice are made with standard rubber with small screws poking out for extra grip on wooden surfaces. Power: Each wheel is driven by an LEM130 motor. I chose these for two reasons, the first reason being the S28-150’s weren’t up to the job and were lacking in the power department. The second reason was their great power to weight ratio was perfect for what SOR wanted. More power for a weight only around a kilo heavier than before. The motors are run at 36v providing decent speed and torque and not going overkill on battery weight. This gives around 18hp, not bad for a multi-weaponed bot. Speed: 12mph, for a decent running speed and great acceleration. Turning Circle: 0, with tank style steering. Ground Clearance: 1mm under the front wedge and 10mm elsewhere. However the front wedge extender and the skirts mean SOR now has a 0mm ground clearance all the way round (other than the back, but that has the disc). Skirting: 5mm thick Titanium/Vanadium, hinged to the body with a rotary joint. Armour: 4mm thick Hardox monocoque. Weapon: The usual rear hinged flipping arm at the front that goes across the top and then down the front wedge and finally forming a horizontal Bigger Brother like flipping platform (only the width of the front). This is powered by an 80mm bore ram and CO2 at 145psi contained in two 2.2kg canisters giving over 30 flips in a fight. At the rear there has been a bit of a modification. The rear spinning weapon remains, only this time it is a Hardox horizontal spinning bar. This is powered by an S28-400 Magmotor at 24v. SRIMECH: Invertible and the flipper can self right it. Strengths: Compact, powerful, manoeuvrable, low clearance, tough armouring, decent weapons, can self right and work inverted. A great all rounder basically.

Aneurysm
Shape: An octagonal sort of body, with the weapon in the front section. Dimensions: 700mm x 700mm x 200mm (Length x Width x Height) Weight: +/- 100kgs (Unsure of the actual weight at the moment) Motivation: Two CNC Aluminum wheels with holes for weight reducing. The motors are run at 36v providing decent speed and torque and not going overkill on battery weight. Speed: 12mph, for a decent running speed and great acceleration. Turning Circle: 0, with tank style steering. Ground Clearance: 10mm all the way round. Armour: 4mm thick Hardox monocoque. Weapon: 15kg horizontal laser cut Hardox flywheel. It is powered by a Honda CR125 motorbike engine, started by a HTI motor at 12v. It is capable of producing around 5000rpm in under 5 seconds with a top speed of 11500rpm. This gives a pretty nasty 40bhp and 80kjs of energy. SRIMECH: Invertible, everything works both ways up. Strengths: Everything! Weaknesses: Fragmentor…
