To Joey's (current) username.
Yes, they bloody well should have.
Or failing that, Latvia.

I didn't watch half the performances anyway I stayed up until 20 past 1 in the morning over here watching it on Spanish TV... ...I know. The people in white coats have been round once before, but I think I managed to fool them by pretending they were Jehovah's witnesses.

Well, all I know is, a Russian pretty boy on ice singing about god knows what should *not* beat Latvian pirates and Scandinavian... According to the video, medieval warriors who were transported into the present day by some kind of magic and go on to become heavy metal sensations.

I thought that was two years ago but it was kind of obvious from the start...they really should have some sort of limit to how many counties from each area can vote. When half of Europe is next to Russia it's just not funny.

Yeah... when no one from Western Europe wins for eleven years....
You could have regional heats, then a final... But the problem is, UK, France, Germany and Spain might get pissy if they aren't guaranteed a spot, and they're the ones who pump the money into the contest. Plus, if, say, the two best countries are Russia and Belarus, it's unfair if only one of them gets into the final.

The answer lies in having professional judges rather than civilian judges. Profs would look further than just "omg I live next to that country how cool" and they'd vote for the best song.

They used to have that a while ago...we used to win a bit more often then I think they've only been doing public voting for ten or fifteen years.

...
Yeah, that works. Don't know why I didn't think of it.
Hell, they did that for the Young Eurovison Song Contest or whatever it was called.

the contest was completely fair back when each country had pro-judges rather than civilians voting, but then came the day Eurovision discovered that having people call in their votes brought in more money, and now we have the flawed system we all know and hate

Agreed. That and all the gimmicks people use to win over voters...only time I ever liked those was Lordi, and they actually had a good song.

Cheers for that Kody! As for the fantasy football league, the only free one I can find is on Yahoo. I signed up for it last night without any troubles, went to log in to create a league this morning and they have apparently deactivated my account.
