Name: Rupture Shape: A low box wedge shape, the front wedge is sloped at 45 degrees. Length: 700mm Width: 700mm Height: 200mm Weight: 100kgs Drive: 2x S28-400 Magmotors, run at 33v by 10x A123 battery packs. Speed: 15mph to provide decent acceleration and running speed. Ground Clearance: 0mm at the front wedge, 10mm at the side and back. 0mm all round when the skirts are fixed. Skirting: Side and rear skirts that provide 0mm of ground clearance all around Rupture. They are 5mm Ti/V alloy and are hinged to the robot via a rotary joint. Armour: 4mm thick Hardox monocoque. Weapon: A lifting arm, around 600mm in width, which is hinged at the rear and runs down the front wedge ending in a flat platform running flush to the ground. It is operated by an S28-400 motor run at 24v and geared at 300:1. The idea is to not produce devastating flips, but something that can keep rolling the opponent over and over. It can lift up to full height in under a second and is designed to last the length of a fight, which is an advantage for fighting flippers. Self-righting mechanism: The lifting arm can easily right the robot. Notes: Designed to just keep going on and on and on…

Name: Fissure Weight: 100kgs Shape: A box-wedge shape with sloping sides. The central section is taken out. Colour: Silver bodywork with a red lifting arm. Length: 700mm Width: 800mm Height: 250mm Motivation: Two 200mm diameter 30mm wide wheels made of Aluminium 7075. Each wheel has an Asmaprene urethane rubber tyre for extra grip on the arena floor. Drive: 2x S28-400 Magmotors running at 26.4v from 40x A123 Lithium-Ion cells. Turning Circle: 0mm using a tank style steer. Speed: 12mph Ground Clearance: 0mm at the front and variable leading to 10mm at the rear. Armour: A 7mm thick Titanium/Vanadium alloy monocoque. The lifting arm is made of 4mm Hardox. Weapons: A large rear-hinged lifting arm running down the centre of the robot. It is operated by a 100mm bore 100mm stroke ram. This is powered by hydraulic fluid at a pressure of 3000psi driven off a Vivoil pump and started using an S28-150 Magmotor. This provides 16 tonnes of force at the ram. It can be used to roll robots over, or pick them up and carry them around the arena. Self-Righter: The lifting arm is used to self-right Fissure. The sloping sides and wedge prevent it being stranded. Notes: The latest version of Rupture.
